In WickED Walls, the gallery presented a selection of pieces by some of our finest fine artists, curating a group exhibition of work by four locally-based painters, sculptors, photographers and mixed media practitioners, in a large canal-side space that had usually been empty during the week. The show opened on July’s Wick Wednesday and closed on the WickED Weekend, to mark and help celebrate the return of the Hackney WickED Open Studios in 2019 (26-28 July). Through holding our exhibition in this space, and by encouraging as many new local artists as possible to open their studios, we resurrected, and are now looking to further develop, from 2019 onwards, the Hackney WickED Art Prize.
