Trolley Bus – Clerkenwell Road, early 50’s

£155.00£1,120.00

Trolleybuses ran along Clerkenwell Road and Farringdon Road until they were discontinued in 1962 because they were said to cause congestions, which was a pity since they ran silently and did not pollute the atmosphere. Occasionally, the poles connected to the overhead power supply cane off when the bus turned the corner, requiring the driver to pull out a long bamboo from the back of his vehicle and manoeuvre the poles back into place on the wires.
